KATANA

K, so this is a fictional story that i wrote as an independent writing assignment. There might me copyright problems or whatever so, just saying, this story was made using inspiration from some of my favorite books, I Am Number Four,   Katana (the names senshi and yoshido come from that book), Percy Jackson(the prophecy is similar), Alex Rider(Action moves), Artemis Fowl (Magic), H.I.V.E.(Cunning, tricks), and of course Harry Potter(travelling through space, magic),all the good stuff. And some of not favorite, but still good writers, Twilight, and etc. Enjoy!

The Prophecy:

When time comes, and all seems lost

The seven shall rise and take the cost

One shall be lost in the greed of thine’s self

And another be broken, taking heed from an elf

But should the shadowed one rise above all

(If they can, just to say, just answer the call )

That person will make, a most ultimate choice

We must hope, they know, what’s right from what’s wrong

And know just when, to just let it go

Author’s Note:

The following is quite true, despite what you may be thinking. This fight is quite real and the Katana is still fighting hard against Them. This book document’s their story, and the Katana hopes that it will spread some warning to what may happen in the next years. All names and places have been changed for the Katana’s own protection from Them. Two members of the Katana have agreed to narrate some parts of their journey, some at least agreed to send a letter, but others have out rightly refused. We write this for your protection. If an unexplained disaster strikes, now you will know what happened, they are fighting. If the disaster ends with calm, then the Katana have succeeded and all has been saved. If it doesn’t, well then life is not going to be very pleasant on planet Earth. It means Katana has lost. Terror will reign, chaos will take over, death and sickness will be a common day to day thing. We document the whole story in order to warn you. Stay safe, be wary, beware.

Prologue: Yoshido & Senshi

The black clad figure approached, almost a blur. No normal human being could ever be this swift, powerful, and dangerous. Thats when he knew, the time had come, they was back. he just hoped his People would know enough to get on with acquiring the Weapon. The last thing he saw was the smile, and the blade rushing towards him. The last thing he heard was “Katana.” Then he was gone.

     2,000 miles away, Senshi was startled awake. Her heart throbbed and she knew immediately that Yoshido was gone. Then she heard it, the faint whisper “Katana” and she saw the cold glint of polished iridium. The simple word sparked terror deep within her. She knew three things to be true;

They                                                          know about the Weapon.

They                                                                                                          wanted the It.

And They

will go at any lengths to get what they want.

It has begun

Chapter 1: Adele

Adele Montana strutted in moments before the late bell rang. All heads swiveled to her direction, all taking in her clothes, hair, and perfect makeup. Everyone stared at her with complete adoration, all but one. The goth emo, at the back of the room glared stonily at her, looking straight into her eyes. Adele nervously looked away and gave a dazzling smile at the teacher. She was frowning but Adele could see a hint of smile. Adele grinned wider and flounced to her seat. As she sat down, her best friend, Ariana leaned over and passed her a note with a knowing smile. Curious, she gave Ariana a questioning look and hurriedly unfolded the Post-It note. What she read completely baffled her. Who’s idea of a sick joke was this? Slowly, her eyes drifted over to the girl in black, and narrowed. That girl, whose name Adele distinctly remembered to be Gwen, had to be the one who sent the note. She was the only one who didn’t seem captivated by her, almost as if she were immune. Adele’s eyes widened, and she realized that she probably was. That could only mean one thing. Gwen was like her.

Chapter 2: Gwen

I sighed, wishing that Adele would stop being the fake she is. I couldn’t understand how nobody could see through her syrupy sweetness. Why did the damn girl keep on looking at me like that, as if I were piece of gum stuck to her stupid Jimmy Choos. I may not have the most desirable character, but it didn’t mean that Adele could look down at me. When I looked at Adele, all I felt was disgust. Adele seemed to almost rule the school. The 10th and 11th graders liked her, and all of 9th and seemed to worship her, at least everybody but me. The best way that I could describe my grade was to say they were like little minions, brainwashed and never thinking for themselves. Obsessed with copying anything that the Adele did, it just infuriated me. I may have been a loner, but better be alone then surrounded with ridiculous people.

Chapter 3: Wren

“Are you like me, or not?” I heard a voice hiss. I turned around to see Adele slam the goth girl into the lockers, for a second, I horrified, my head cleared, and I realized for the first time that Adele wasn’t at all as hot as I had thought, on the other hand the other girl…. and then my head seemed to get clouded up again. I shook his head, what was I thinking? Of course not, Adele was the most beautiful girl in school. But what I heard next seemed to jar some unconscious part of my brain that seemed to resist against the fog that kept on trying to take over. “I don’t have a freaking idea what you’re talking about bitch, so why don’t you let me go?” Gwen the goth girl shrieked. “I think you do know, you’re the only one in the whole school is resisting my charm, you of all people freak.” Adele screeched, “And that’s only possible if you’re someone like me!” Gwen and I both froze, “What?!” We both thought, and somehow, for some reason, we could hear each other clearly in their minds. I could read her thoughts, “Wait what? but how? I mean this is like, impossible? And what does that bitch mean about charming the school, What’s wrong with this school??? And what…” I concentrated, and tried yelling “SHUT UP” in her mind, and Gwen seemed to have heard it, as she had clapped her hands over her ears. I grinned, and privately thought, “well this is definitely going to be interesting. Then I noticed that Adele was watching our conversation in increasing interest, and she smiled a very toothy smile, revealing a set of horribly crooked, chipped teeth that somehow, nobody had ever noticed before.

Chapter 4: Xander

As soon as Xander Rider set foot at his home, his first words were “I hate this school.” Not usually a down person, his mother knew that his first day of school must have been pretty bad for him to say this. Knowing he would start talking by himself, she settled herself down and waited. “This school, it’s unbelievable, this one girl is like, ruling the school and she’s not even that pretty or nice. The people here never seem to think for themselves and are all most identical, they’re all modeled after that one girl. It’s ridiculous! And when someone new comes, like me they just, stare and if I do something out of the ordinary, everybody looks at me as though I’m crazy. I’d rather be homeschool, this ‘project’ you’re doing mum, isn’t helping me at all. The school is creeping me out.” “You’ll survive.” his mother replied, getting a strange glint in her eye. Xander sighed. His long speech, and all he got two words in reply. Typical.

Chapter 5: Gwen

The day after that new kid, Xander suddenly appeared at school, it occurred to me that I might be a little less lonely at school. After studying him from a far, I began to suspect that Xander could see right through Adele, just as I myself could. He definitely showed some of the signs, confusion, disgust when looking at Adele, and the wary way he looked at everybody. So that afternoon, during lunch, I made my move. Actually, there were two very important things that happened that day, as it turns out, and I made two more friends, much to my surprise.

Chapter 6: Xander

The thing that Xander had expected the least was for a random goth girl to plop herself down. The only thing he could think of at first was that she seriously had to stop with the eyeliner. Then another boy who he remembered was the first one to be friendly to him, Wren, plopped himself down on the other side of him. Both of them were cheerfully smiling at him, and the whole cheeriness was starting to creep him out. “Uh, umm, hi?” Spluttered Xander, starting to wish that the two would stop staring at him, he was more used to that by now. “Hi!” They replied in unison, and they automatically started to glare at earth other. “That’s more like it.” Xander silently thought. He was so wrapped up in his own thoughts that he never noticed when the Gwen and Wren had gone silent still glaring but with a look of concentration on their faces. But when he did finally open his eyes and looked at them, he found that he could somehow hear the argument that was still going strong. Xander didn’t exactly know why, but he abruptly got the feeling that he should be friends with his strange companions, best friends in fact. In the next minute, Xander’s head felt muddled, and unclear. And when his head cleared up again, he found that both Wren and Gwen were staring at him, gaping.

Chapter 7: Wren

I was still grimacing from the yelling I had just received, (Gwen seemed to have quite the talent for being very loud) when Xander started blabbering at top notch speed. It was hard to comprehend what he was saying but I managed to catch the following words; weapon, katana, mentors, Senshi, dead, help, them. Mades no sense whatsoever, and then he suddenly stopped with the gibberish he acted as though he’d never said anything. Huh. Gwen and I both goggled at him, and he just looked right back as if we were the strange ones. But the thing that really creeped me out? Well, lets just say I got the feeling that I had already heard the gibberish that Xander had just said. In a slower mode of course. And the funny thing is, from the look of Gwen’s face, she also had also come to the same conclusion.

Chapter 8: Adele

The three apparently didn’t realize that since they were like Adele, she could do whatever they could do, and likewise for them. She could hear every thought, and decided to try for using Xander for her dirty work. She closed her eyes and concentrating. Getting into Xander was harder than expected, and once she got in, he kept on trying to push her out, giving Adele little time to get out what she had to say. After being forced out of Xander’s mind, she listened hard to see if they had managed to understand anything. She heard catches from Wren, “weapon, katana, Senshi.” Adele grinned, it would be enough. She got up and collected he stuff. Just as she stood up, a yellow slip of paper fluttered onto the floor. Adele stooped down to pick up the paper, and with a sinking feeling realized what it was. The note. It would be tomorrow.

Chapter 9: Gwen

I was seriously regretting inviting Xander and Wren over to my house. Wren, I was already prepared to have to subdue him or something, (thank god that i had already graduated to a black belt in tae kwon do) but Xander, well, as soon as he stepped foot in my house, gone were the quiet shy boy, and hello boisterous crazy madman. My mom, timid thing she was, refused to come down, and while with her, I could see her wince with every crash. After hearing a particularly loud and worrying crash, I ran down the stairs to see what they were up to. I found Xander grinning, standing over Wren, who for some reason, was sprawled over what used to be our coffee table. “I think I’ve won, don’t you agree?” Xander drawled, grinning impishly. “Yea right, that was luck, another round?” “You’ve already lost three rounds…” “Eh hem.” Both boys whirled their heads around, and guiltily gave a timid smile. “OUT! no more breaking tables, you two get to become friends outside without cookies and lemonade. Oh and you should stop with the puppy eyes, not gonna work.” I probably should have at least given them the pizza. Let me warn you, NEVER get either one of them pissed. If you do, well, the best thing to do is move to a different country. You really don’t want to get hit by one if their “enemy pies.”

Chapter 10: Adele

Adele had been waiting at the clearing in the middle of the forest for the past hour. Her pants were already stained and her thighs hurt from squatting so long. Where was the mysterious “stranger?” She had followed the directions, at least everything but to stand in the middle of the clearing. But then, Adele preferred to see the enemy before they saw her. After waiting another painful 5 minutes behind the foliage, Adele decided to take her chances. She had to find out who had figured out her secret, who would dare to say such things. Adele warily stepped into the clearing, eyes flickering back in forth for any sign of an enemy. She reached the middle of the clearing and stood, hands out, ready. When she heard leaves rustle behind her, she whirled around and aimed with her hands. She felt a tugging sensation at her stomach, and the world faded to black.

Chapter 11: Xander

Xander wasn’t not much of a glutton for punishment, but sometimes, the trouble is worth the punishment. And who’s a better partner in crime then Wren? When Gwen sent the two outside, Xander knew that they had deserved it, (after all, they had more or less pulverized the coffee table) but he really wanted his pizza. And sugary iced tea if he could help it. It has been a while since Xander had made his top trouble weapon, but he could still clearly remembered the ingredients for Enemy Pie. He began the list in his head, half a dozen rotten eggs, part of the manure pile that his father personally asked the nearest farmer to being over every spring for his garden, and a ton of other stuff that were to be not named. It would be tomorrow, soon after school. And hopefully, Xander would get his pizza.

Chapter 12: Gwen

I had been uneasy when I spotted Xander and Wren whispering at the school entrance after the bell had rung, but it was down right suspicious when I saw them heading in the same direction as me and when I saw a flash of a bright red that happened to be the color of Wren’s sweatshirt. I quickened my pace, and kept my eyes peeled for any sign of a booby trap. It was when was just about to open the gate that I heard footsteps approaching, and I slowly swiveled around to see Wren holding a massive pie tin. I only had seconds to snap my jaw shut, squeeze my eyes shut, and throw my arms in front of my face, not that it did any help. It didn’t even occur to me to dive out of then way, even if that meant diving into a bush full of thorns. I am still regretting how I reacted to having a pie tin thrown at me. I was splattered head to toe with a brown gunk that smelled foul, repulsive, nauseating, and well, I can talk for an hour about how terrible it smelled. Like seriously, it took 3 hours worth of baths and showers to just get the smell to be less noticeable and another week for the smell to completely wear off. The stuff really stinks. Well anyways, after being splattered, and I lost my cool. I started screaming bloody murder and waving a thorny branch and chasing after them. Yea, not exactly my best moment. But at least I got my revenge, even if it came a little late.

Chapter 13: Wren

Nothing much happened right after this. Gwen never invited us over again, and she took whatever chances that came her way to humiliate us afterwards, blah blah blah. It was all worth it. I should have taken a picture, gosh her expression was priceless. What happened to Adele might interest you more than this. It was after her meeting that the really interesting stuff started.

Chapter 14: Adele

One second second she was crouched in a forest, and the next, she found herself zooming along a circular hallway that seemed to me made up of words and pictures. Adele curiously reached out a hand and tried touching the beautiful calligraphy and photos, and found herself watching a girl, that girl, Gwen getting drenched with a brown, slimy substance. Then the scene changed, she saw a handsome man, with a scar that marred one cheek getting cornered by a woman with a mask and in a black body suit. She saw a gleaming sword made from an unrecognizable metal plunging down right where his heart would be. Adele started to scream in horror, and the scene rippled and faded into nothing. Adele found herself on the floor with a beautiful woman, with a disapproving expression standing over her.

Chapter 15: Adele

Adele had spent hours upon hours on random training ever since she could walk with her father. Sword play, martial arts, tae-kwon-do, poison identifying, hunting, you name it. She used to complain and whine asking why she had to do these things, not that she got any answers. Now she was whole heartedly glad for what she had learned as she flipped herself up and tried for a hard jab into the solar plexus. But Adele found that her fist connected with a wooded staff that seemingly appeared out of nowhere instead of a fleshy abdomen. She yelped and cradled her hand, feeling sure that she had just fractured a knuckle. Adele realized that for once, she would be the victim. This lady was far more talented and quick, and the odds were against her in a fight. She decided to try hearing the woman out. For the first time, the enemy spoke, “Well it took you long enough.” Adele gasped, she recognized that voice, it belonged to someone that she had thought that she would never be hearing from again.

Chapter 16: Wren

Gwen might have warned you not get get me and Xander annoyed, but she’s one to talk. She doesn’t get angry easily or often, but when she does it’s plain scary. What we did was bad, but how she reacted?  Let me put it this way, if we were a mouse, she’d be the wolf, or whatever sneaky, devious, scary thing that eats mice you can think of. At first the two of us thought that we were off the bat, and we couldn’t have been wrong. It started with a little things. Missing homework, disappearing candy, things like that. Those are perfectly harmless jokes, in fact, I kind of likes it, what’s a life without some fun? That’s when the jokes became a bit more humiliating. It’s not exactly fun to find your clothes after gym gone, and have to chase a girl around the school with only a towel until she finally relented and put the clothes in a girl’s bathroom. After that, the jokes receded, and pranking each other became a game. But still, I  didn’t dare ask Xander to make another enemy pie again.

Chapter 17: Xander

Xander and Wren were completely inseparable, ever since the “enemy pie” incident. Xander had been most of the master-mind behind the project, but for some reason, Xander seemed to be excused from the large amounts of pranks that occurred soon after the pie. Wren never noticed, but day by day, he became increasingly curious on why she wasn’t taking any anger upon Xander. He didn’t want his new friend to realize that Xander had never gotten his clothes stolen and loose the only friend he had. So one day, he approached Gwen’s table and sat down next to her. “What are you doing here?” Gwen questioned, and Xander noticed that her face seemed to getting a little pink. “I just wanted to know why you’re only picking on Wren, but not me, I’d rather not loose him as a friend. So if you’re going to continue pranking him, can u at least prank me too? Or just stop all together.” Gwen stayed silent and stared down into her pizza. “Mmmilllummstomm…” She mumbled. And Xander quietly gave his thanks as he walked away, leaving Gwen looking mortified, and red. Gwen stopped talking to them at all, but at least the pranks stopped. The friendship was never quite completely repaired.

Chapter 18: Adele

“Mum? It that… ” Adele choked, and tears started to stream down her face. The timeless lady’s face shimmered, and revealed a sad, wizened face, a face that Adele had worshiped when she was young. Her mum had disappeared without a trace when she had been 7 years old. By then, her body and teeth were marred with scars with the testing training she received from her father. That was one reason why she had loved her mother. While her father trained her physically, her mother had helped her with magic and survival things. Adele’s mum had always tended her newest injury, making sure that her face would remain unscarred, though she could not do anything about her teeth. All her memories of her were loving and of peace, and Adele had been devastated when her mum had disappeared. “What-why are you here? Where have you been all this time?” And Adele’s tone turned angry. “How could you have left me with dad? Do you know what he’s done to me in the years? It’s the least I can do to use glamour to hide the scars. Just look, there is barely any skin that hasn’t been completely ruined!” She ranted on for a couple of minutes, and finally unlocked the flood within her that had been trapped for so many years. And when she finally looked into her long lost mother’s eyes, all of her dreams about being reunited with her fell flat.

Chapter 19: Adele

Her eyes were cold, cruel, and full of pain. Gone were the softness, gone were the kindness, her eyes were an empty shell. And now her beautiful face was twisted in a murderous rage. For the second time of the day, she was glad of her father’s ways. She rolled to the side, narrowly escaping the plunging katana. Attack after attack Adele dodged, but she could bring herself to attack her mother, despite the fact that she was relentlessly trying to chop Adele into fish bait. Suddenly, Adele heard a voice, in her head, whispering. “Get back to the circle, quick, now!” It was her mum, again, but with a more gentle voice. Adele hesitated and that, almost cost Adele her life.

Chapter 20: Gwen

That was the most humiliating thing that had ever happened to me, I mean, I guess it was a little rude to be only tormenting Wren but I didn’t like the way Xander seemed to think of me.  I can’t even explain why I didn’t want to hurt Xander. And the absurd happy fluttery feeling I get whenever he’s around. You know what? I don’t wanna talk about it. Leave me along to think.

Chapter 21: Wren

Wait WHAT?! She said that? But I thought… And to think that I actually liked her! Oh f**k my life, I really don’t want to talk right now, can I have some peace?

Chapter 22: Adele

Adele gasped in pain, as the cold blade slashed her side. It was excruciating, even worse than any of the cuts that she had received before. Blood was poring down, and she pressed her hand against her side to try and slow the flow. She was inches away from the circle, and slowly, she stumbled toward the circle. With one foot out, she suddenly realized that her mum wasn’t attacking her. She turned around, sticking the last food in, and realized that her mum was staring at the gash, open mouthed in horror, “honey? What happened?” Adele just looked at her mum, and she felt the tugging sensation again, and the world turned black.

Adele landed in a beautiful house, and the last thing she saw before she blacked out was Gwen, her face white, as though she had seen a ghost.

Chapter 23: Gwen

A ton of blood was pooling down her sides, and honestly, I’m not really sure what happened. I remember the wave of calm hitting me, pushing back the panic attack and making me think. I stumbled for the phone, dialed 911, and rushed back to where Adele was gushing blood on the white carpet. I tried holding together the gash with my hands, and somehow it seemed to stem the flow, though some voice at the back of my head said that this should have been happening. But it was working, so I kept at it. Now that I think of it, there were an awful lot of bright red sparks floating around, and who knew where they came from at the time. After a while, the blood completely stopped, and suddenly, I felt drained, exhausted, as though I hadn’t slept for days, and finally, the situation caught up with me. I giggled hysterically as I realized that Gran was gonna kill me for ruining the carpet again. I fell asleep to the sound of sirens wailing.

Things that change

Of course, everyone changes as they grow up, you mature, become an adult blah blah blah blah… but what about physiologically? You get smarter (duh) and you learn to make better decisions. And there’s the fact that it’s very near impossible to stay with a friend throughout a whole life. And though we are not seeing each other everyday now… (though some of you are… lucky you) we can try and keep in contact… lengthen the time as friends. Like my foward message from Anne says,

You might be best friends one year,

pretty good friends the next year,

don’t talk that often the next year,

and don’t want to talk at all the year after that.

So, I just wanted to say,

even if I never talk to you again in my life,

you are a friend and you have made a difference in my life,

look up to you and respect you sometimes

This will always be true and I hope that we’ll be friends if we meet again!!!!

E.O.P. paper.

Dont know what to do, so im going to do something rather random. Today, I found an EOP paper on my desk, and it had a poem on it. Im going to first type down what i can remember, then post copy and paste the real thing. This is just for fun people!!!!

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood

And sorry I could not travel both

And be one traveler, long i stood

I looked down one as far as I could

To where it bent in the undergrowth

And as I say this with a sigh

I ;

i took the road less taken by,

and that has made all the difference.

Now for the Real one:

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

One last review, GLPS Camp

I love this place, and you’re bound to make some leg muscles with all the walking that you have to do. The foods great, the bunk beds okay, and the laundry service, fairly quick. There is and easy to memorize schedule, and a bell that always wakes you up in the morning. But since most people can usually only think of the good things about GLPS, I’m going to talk about some of the disadvantages about GLPS. For example, friends, language, and you might not be used to the schedule. So either living here can be miserable for you, saddening for you, or difficult.

Of course, after one month of living here, you make good friends, or you might even develop a crush. XD. So finally leaving can be heart wrenching, for if your studying abroad, you’ll never be able to meet that person again. So it’s sort of getting something, only to have it taken away from you the next day. I know that when I leave GLPS, I might cry, and hope that EVERYONE, (and yes, even the boys) makes a Facebook so I can contact everybody. Just so you guys know, I’m going to make a Facebook page, just type up GLPS 2012 Summer Class 16, or http://www.facebook/glps2012summer16. and you’ll find it. Please join, and anyone who doesn’t have a facebook, make one, and like the page. (And friend me too!)

Now for my second topic, which is language. This can work in both ways, camp and outside of camp. First in camp though. In camp, well you’ve probably have used Korean for you whole life, so all of a sudden not being allowed to even use Korean is a big change. Because of this change, you might get a lot of E.O.P. papers, and that is probably a pretty big problem. Now for the other side, outside of camp. After a month of only using English, you’re used to it, so when you go back to Korea, well that might be a problem for you. You might have trouble going back to using only Korean, and that might cause a bit of embarrassment.

Now for my second topic, which is not being used to how this camp works. This too can also work both ways. Meaning again, inside and the outside of camp. Inside of camp, you might have trouble with getting to class on time, waking up early enough, eating times might be different too. So this might cause some trouble for you. If you’re late for class, you might get a yellow card, and if you don’t wake up to late, you’ll miss breakfast, and starve until the too late lunch and the too early dinner. Now for the outside. Again, after a month of these procedures, you get used to them, so you might find yourselves following the same schedule for camp instead of your school one.

In conclusion, although GLPS has many benefits, there are also many things that might hurt you rather then helping you. Like you might loose good friends, language, and not being used to the schedule. That’s why I think you should go to GLPS, but there are a few things that you should be prepared to battle against.

Starships

I love the song, though the music video is, ummmm what should I say?????!! Maybe,, STUPID. My favorite part is when the singer goes, “twinkle twinkle little star” Rather randomly. Wonder to came up with the idea to stick that in there. A complicated and strange subject song, with a simple, common, understandable song stuck randomly into in. Now how cool is that? The music video though? I have to say, i think they should change it. Why does Nicki have green hair? What’s wrong with her clothes. If they just made the music video A LOT more different, this song would be my #1 Fave song. So this song, I think will not get the perfect ten because of the music video, but will get a 7 and a 1/2 for the song.

I didn’t want to post the music video because, well you know what. But this is the dance we WERE doing in dance class. The unfortunate point is no boys,  except one. bad for the boy, good for the girls. But now with a new P.A. we changed the song to Day by Day. Hate the band, they threw out a member for some reason. I think that the P.A.’s reason for not doing Gangnam style was because it’s a bit embarrassing. I Don’t blame them!  XD LOL Rating is 5 out of 10 hate this embarrassing song
